Different medical specialists were brought together on November 17 at the 2nd Amyloidosis Symposium to provide state-of-the-art insights into pathogenesis, diagnosis and management of amyloidosis.
Prof. Michel Delforge (UZ Leuven), Dr. Nicolas Kint (UZ Brussels) & Dr. Jan Loos (AZ Klina), hematologists, presented various clinical cases on how they treat newly diagnosed and relapsed patients with AL.
These were followed by an interactive workshop on the management of TTR amyloidosis in daily clinical practice, moderated by Prof. Kristl Claeys (UZ Leuven), neurologist, Prof. Antoine Bondue (Hôpital Erasme) & Prof. Anne-Catherine Pouleur (Clin. Univ. St-Luc Bruxelles), both cardiologists.
This interesting #AmyloidosisSymposium emphasized the importance of multidisciplinary collaboration between different clinicians.
